Happiness is… great musical theatre!

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, Sally and Schroeder are coming to the historic Town Hall Theatre as St. Marys Community Players (SMCP) brings Charles M. Schulz’s beloved comic strip to life in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, running October 22 to November 7.

From Charlie Brown’s misadventures on the baseball diamond to Lucy’s unsolicited advice, Linus’s beloved blanket, Schroeder’s devotion to Beethoven and Snoopy’s larger-than-life imagination, the whole Peanuts Gang is here!

Featuring favourite songs including “Happiness,” “The Kite,” “Suppertime” and “My Blanket and Me,” this charming musical celebrates childhood worries, quiet hopes, friendship and the little things that make life wonderful.

Directed by Peter Van Wart, with Musical Direction by Jocelyn Nicholson, the production features Dave Humphrey as Charlie Brown, Rachel Napolitano as Lucy, Hannah Bennett as Sally, Matthew Schell as Linus, Marc Motiejunas as Schroeder and Mia Leone as Snoopy.

Set Designer Ray Doerksen has transformed the Town Hall stage into a colourful Peanuts Playground, complete with a nostalgic playground carousel inspired by Van Wart’s own childhood memories.

The production is led by Producers Marie Stevens and Stephen Brockwell, with Costumes by Fern Pridham, Lighting by Alan Grogan and Sound by Vanni Azzano.

GOOD GRIEF! Get ready to join Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the whole Peanuts Gang for an evening steeped in delightful whimsy — evoking the nostalgia of the classic comic strip with unassuming charm and the cozy comfort of a beloved favourite.
