Plants, Parks and Patterson – a guided Stratford History and Nature Walk
On our “Plants, Parks and Patterson” tour you will learn about the plants growing along the Avon River, the history and geography of the waterway, and its importance to Stratford. We’ll also share with you an overview of the history of the Stratford Festival and how Tom Patterson’s dream became a reality as we stroll along the scenic riverside path.
We’ve partnered with Gabrielle from Singing Nettle Herbs for this special tour. Gabrielle is a community herbalist, gardener and educator who is very knowledgeable about plants and their benefits to our health and well-being.
This tour starts at Tom Patterson Island and ends near the William Hutt Bridge. The route is flat, paved and accessible. Questions and photos are encouraged. Children and well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome.
