Come to Stratford early and stay late! Construction delays may be significant in summer 2019 so be sure not to miss out on any fun!

Hwy 6 to Embro/401: Replacement of large culvert Aug-Nov

Expect delays but road will not be closed. Hwy 7 detour is suggested as above, if there is an overlap.

Hwy 8 between Stratford and Shakespeare: In progress

Beginning in early June, stretches of this road between the west end of Shakespeare and the east end of Stratford will be reduced on weekdays to a single lane, with flag people controlling traffic in both directions. Delays may be lengthy, so please allow additional time for your trip. (Both lanes are expected to be open on evenings and weekends.)

How to Create the Perfect Cheese Board

Putting together a great cheese board is just a matter of making good choices - choose a variety of flavours, texture and colours, and your guests will rave!

Decide on the number of cheeses you want on your board by the number of people you will be sharing it with, for a small crowd of 3 to 7, three cheeses is plenty.  For a catered look, always do odd numbers. There should be some fresh or dried fruit, or a smear of fruit paste to accompany your cheese - and crackers or crusty bread.  A handful of walnuts also works well.  Adding cured meat is also a great idea.

Present the cheeses in different styles, do some cubed or wedged, some slivered and maybe one, just leave as a whole piece for your guests to cut themselves.

As a wine pairing, a Pinot Noir, a Sauvignon Blanc or a dry rosé.

Suggested Cheese Board for 5

  • a generous scoop of C'est Bon chevre drizzled with a hot pepper jelly
  • Monforte Hodgepodge cheddar cut into cubes
  • Stonetown Wildwood cut in triangles with a fig and port delice
  • a handful of walnuts and a few dried black mission figs halved
  • dried chirizo thinly sliced
  • water crackers

Don’t miss the fun due to construction delays!
