The Stratford Festival is the continent’s largest, and finest, repertory festival – and so much more.
Canada’s Stratford Festival is, quite simply, the country’s premier theatre arts festival. And for nearly seven decades, it has been a vital part of our city. While the theatres have been closed for the 2020 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Festival is eager to welcome audiences back to our venues when it is safe to do so.
The Stratford Festival presents everything from classic Shakespeare works to dazzling musicals to children’s shows to brand-new plays by Canadian and international writers. Four venues – including the stunning new Tom Patterson Theatre – bring you the world on stage.
But that’s not all the Stratford Festival offers. Complementing the shows is The Meighen Forum, offering a vast range of workshops, speakers, panels, meal events and special performances.
That’s a lot. But there’s still more. You can go behind the scenes with our tours. Interested in our huge stash of costumes and props, our gorgeous gardens or the storied Festival Theatre itself? Want to see an astonishing set change? Wondering about our Archives? We can take you there.
The Stratford Festival truly offers something for everyone. Until we are able to welcome you back to our theatres, check out Stratfest@Home for films, discussions, workshops and more.
