Stratford Guided Walking Tour

Take a journey through the past on our guided walking tour. You’ll hear interesting stories and learn about some of the unique people who shaped the city.

You’ll see iconic buildings and historic sites that will deepen your knowledge and appreciation of the Festival City!

Our outdoor walking tour showcases many of the iconic buildings and sites in Stratford’s downtown core.

You will find out where the dream of a Stratford teenager named Tom Patterson became a reality when years later, he created the Stratford Shakespearian festival. You will learn about a man known as Highland Grim Reaper who strolled the streets Stratford in full Scottish regalia causing fear amongst local residents.

You will see the war memorial designed by the illustrious sculptor, Walter S. Allward, who went on to design the iconic Vimy Memorial in France. And of course, no tour of Stratford would be complete without seeing some of the spots that played a role in shaping pop star Justin Bieber.

These are just some of the things that await you on the tour.

The tour is approximately 75 minutes in duration and covers a distance of 1.5 km (1 mile). The route is along public sidewalks and streets and can be considered an easy level of physical effort. It traverses a few gentle hills and stairs, but should you have mobility concerns please let us know. Tours take place rain or shine and will only be cancelled in the event of extreme weather.
