Prerequisite: you must be able to centre at least 2-3 lbs of clay easily

During the first day all students will share their goals and ambitions, a focus on specific skills and forms will be chosen based on what the group would like to learn and spend their time on. You will also get comfortable cutting your pots in half to identify improvement spots. By the end of the 6 weeks, you will have learned nuances and honed your skills to make intentional pots!

Below are a few examples of techniques that may be covered:

– centring larger amounts of clay

– throwing bigger

– getting more out of your clay

– thrown and altered forms

– lidded forms

– closed forms

– matching sets

– decoration techniques

Your ideas are welcomed and encouraged!

Students will leave with 10-12 finished pieces.

All work will be ready for pickup within 4-6weeks of the final class.
