Memorial Service for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
The City of Stratford will host a brief and respectful service on Friday, September 16 at 6 p.m. in front of City Hall to honour Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away Thursday, September 8.
The service will include remarks from Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson, Perth Wellington MP John Nater and Perth Wellington MPP Matthew Rae, as well as words of reflection on behalf of a grateful community from Stratford citizens Richard and Ruth Kneider.
A scripture reading and prayer of thanks will be offered by local faith leaders, and a piper will perform Amazing Grace.
Flowers will also be laid at the base of the Union Jack, which is currently at half mast on the flagpole in front of City Hall.
And a book of condolences, which is available to sign at the Destination Stratford office at 47 Downie Street, will be available at the service Friday. The book will be sent to the Royal Family later this month.
