Puck’s Plenty Foraging: Shrimp of the Woods
Also know as Aborted Entoloma, Hunters Heart, Pig Snoot (Yuck) and Ground Prune. They begin as a normal mushroom. Cap, stem, etc. And then . . . morph into what you see above. But here’s the thing. They’re edible and they taste good. We can tell you all about them on the trails as we search for Grey Trichs, Fall Oysters, Velvet Foot and more.
Autumn’s a great time to search for fungi.
Start time: 10:00 am
Where: Stratford area.
