Puck’s Plenty Foraging: Forage & Feast – Water Buffalo or Lion’s Mane Steak
Our July 4th Forage and Feast features two choices. Water Buffalo is one of the treasured fare of chefs. Lean and delicious, our Ragout includes the Summer Leaves of the Sochan Plant (a staple of the Cherokee Nation), Wild Lambs Quarters (Wild Spinach) along with kernels of Sweet Corn, Summer Squash, assorted beans and slices of Hen of the Woods Mushrooms.
And for those who prefer vegetarian we have the alternative. A scrumptious plate of Lion’s Mane Steak garnished with Anise, Sochan Herb and Sprigs of Mint. Dessert: Rhubarb Pie. Red and White wines from Niagara along with locally brewed craft beer are also included.
Oh yes! not to forget the foraging portion of this day which begins at 9:45 am. Scouting forests close to Stratford. Searching for Wild Ginger, Wild Spinach and an assortment of Wild Mushrooms such as Summer Oysters, Angel Wings, Beech Rooters and Platterfuls.
As an added bonus, each participant will receive one Hen of the Woods from Shogun Maitake for their cooking pleasure.
