Puck’s Plenty Foraging – Beech Rooter – SOLD OUT

SOLD OUT

Growing alongside the Platterful Mushroom is the Beech Rooter, a very distinctive and easily identified fungi that is also quite tasty. As its name implies the Beech Rooter can be found under Beech trees. It has a long narrow stem that is woody in texture. By contrast, the cap is quite tender, tan to brown with white gills. What is unique about this mushroom is the plant-like bulb with extended roots. In our opinion the cap rates as “choice” for taste and is a terrific find for any mushroom hunter. Along with the Beech Rooter and Platterful we will also be hunting for Fawn and Pheasant Back mushrooms as well as Wild Leek Bulbs, Day Lily Shoots, Plantain, Burdock Root and Wild Watercress.
