Kitchen Connection (Junior) Ages 8-10 (grade 3-5)

Come join us at The Local Community Food Centre for a fun-filled 7 session program where young chefs aged 8-10 can learn and explore the world of cooking! In this hands-on learning experience, kids will get to whip up delicious dishes and learn valuable kitchen skills. From mastering basic recipes to discovering new flavors participants will experience the full range of preparing a meal from planning, preparing, eating and cleaning up. Each week we will share delicious meals around our community table.

Registration Information

Participants must be able to read and follow the steps of a simple recipe and be ready to learn to work with knives, stoves, ovens and hot pots, and other kitchen equipment, as necessary.

This is a group class where participants work together under the supervision of a staff member and volunteers. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to provide one on one support to participants. If your child would like to participate but requires individualized support, we would welcome a family member or support worker to accompany them**.

Please note that The Local Community Food Centre Kitchen is not an allergen free kitchen, and we are unable to accommodate serious food allergies.
