Guided Tour | Made in France: French fashion from 1870’s to 1970’s
“Made in France” signifies more than the place of manufacture; it evokes centuries of fashion innovation, luxury, and influence.
This exhibition, one of the THREE Great Shows on exhibition at Gallery Stratford this summer, features rare, exquisite historical French garments dating from the late 19th through 20th centuries. It showcases a period when Paris became the centre of fashion and haute couture emerged.
NEW starting Saturday, August 8, and then every Saturday in August, visitors to Gallery Stratford may wish to join a guided tour of this exhibition. Curatorial Director, Jonathan Walford, from the Fashion History Museum will provide expert background on the origins and cultural impact of this featured French collection. Tours, lasting 30 minutes, start at 11:30 AM and are FREE with regular gallery admission.
