Introduction to Corset Making

‹This week-long, corset-making class, with artist instructor, Linda Sparks, is designed for those who have never made a corset before. Participants will need to know how to operate a sewing machine in order to take this class; consider our Introduction to Sewing course, if you have no experience. Corset expert and costumer Linda Sparks of Farthingales will teach you how to draft a waist-cincher corset based on your measurements. You’ll also get an opportunity to vary the pattern lines to customize the look. The instructor will fit your corset to you and advise you on how to tweak the pattern based on fitting issues you have. She will then guide you through the construction process and demonstrate the many types of bones available and how to use them.

Location: 20 Monteith Avenue, Stratford, 20 Monteith Avenue, Stratford
