Come to Stratford early and stay late! Construction delays may be significant in summer 2019 so be sure not to miss out on any fun!

Hwy 6 to Embro/401: Replacement of large culvert Aug-Nov

Expect delays but road will not be closed. Hwy 7 detour is suggested as above, if there is an overlap.

Hwy 8 between Stratford and Shakespeare: In progress

Beginning in early June, stretches of this road between the west end of Shakespeare and the east end of Stratford will be reduced on weekdays to a single lane, with flag people controlling traffic in both directions. Delays may be lengthy, so please allow additional time for your trip. (Both lanes are expected to be open on evenings and weekends.)

Road Trip to Hike and Forage for Leeks and Fiddleheads.

One of the most humbling and authentic ways to get to know a place is through its food. In Stratford, the foraging trend is becoming increasingly more accessible to travellers offering a genuine connection to Stratford and its bounty of local and natural food. Peter Blush, a passionate forager whose reputation is reflected in several magazines including Travel+Leisure, will lead us through an hour long trek through a beautiful forest of trees and streams. You will learn to identify and harvest wild leeks, ginger, trout lilies, garlic mustard and marsh marigolds in early Spring, or in later spring fiddleheads, stinging nettles, and cattail shoots. Your findings are yours to take home and with your newfound knowledge and provided recipes, you can put them to use in your own kitchen to create delicious and homegrown meals.

Cost: $55/Per person

Location: Stratford City Hall (Northwest side), Stratford, 1 Wellington Street, Stratford
