Come to Stratford early and stay late! Construction delays may be significant in summer 2019 so be sure not to miss out on any fun!

Hwy 6 to Embro/401: Replacement of large culvert Aug-Nov

Expect delays but road will not be closed. Hwy 7 detour is suggested as above, if there is an overlap.

Hwy 8 between Stratford and Shakespeare: In progress

Beginning in early June, stretches of this road between the west end of Shakespeare and the east end of Stratford will be reduced on weekdays to a single lane, with flag people controlling traffic in both directions. Delays may be lengthy, so please allow additional time for your trip. (Both lanes are expected to be open on evenings and weekends.)

June 29th Forage & Feast

It's Canada Day Weekend and what better way to start our Country's celebrations by hiking in our beautiful forests to search for wild edible plants and mushrooms. We will be searching trails only fifteen minutes from town looking for burdock root, wild ginger, wood sorrel, day lily flower buds along with an array of Summer mushrooms. Afterward we return to Stratford's Forest Motel for an upscale meal that includes Wild Nettle Gouda from Mountain Oak Cheese, baguettes from The Downie Street Bakehouse and delicious wild ginger and burdock soup. The main course features a combination of wild mushrooms and asparagus in a cream sauce over pasta. Our lunch is rounded off by scrumptious pies from The Black Angus Bakery. Locally brewed craft beer from Black Swan Brewery and wines from Niagara are also included.

Cost: $75/Per person

Location: Packham Sports Complex, Stratford,
