Hwy 6 to Embro/401: Replacement of large culvert Aug-Nov

Expect delays but road will not be closed. Hwy 7 detour is suggested as above, if there is an overlap.

Hwy 8 between Stratford and Shakespeare: In progress

Beginning in early June, stretches of this road between the west end of Shakespeare and the east end of Stratford will be reduced on weekdays to a single lane, with flag people controlling traffic in both directions. Delays may be lengthy, so please allow additional time for your trip. (Both lanes are expected to be open on evenings and weekends.)

Second 45th Anniversary Family Winter Hike in TJ Dolan

1:30 pm – 4 pm, Rain or shine.  Distance: about 4 km. Pace:  Medium. Terrain:  Moderate. Duration:  2 ½ hrs.

Meeting:   1:30 PM Parking lot of the Perth District Health Unit, West Gore St., (43.368915,-81.001415)

Hike Route Overview:  We will hike a 4km loop in the T.J. Dolan, a sanctuary of nature nestled within the city boundaries.  We will take time to observe whatever birds are still in the area, and other interesting features of the winter season.  There are moderate hills, and possibility of wet areas.   All ages are welcome from grandkids to seniors and everyone in between.  Refreshments will be served at the end.   This is the second of nine Family Hikes celebrating the 45th Anniversary of the Avon Trail. 

Recommendations: Dress in layers appropriate for the weather.  Mitts and toque recommended.  Boots or good supportive footwear recommended.
