SUMMARY:Light Up the Night Kayaking 2026: Floating Silent Disco Nights
DESCRIPTION:Light Up The Night Kayaking is an opportunity to kayak, canoe, or paddleboard under the stars while meeting new people and friends! All you need are some lights, and your kayak, paddle board, or canoe. Each event has a theme that you are encouraged to participate in them. Remember to ensure you have some form of lights on your vessel such as string lights, headlamps, along with life jackets and safety kids.  The start time of each event will be posted closer to the event date but around dusk, so please allow yourself time to decorate and be on the water for the specified start time.\nYou can launch anywhere along the south side of the river but many meet and launch at the parking lot at the east end of the river  (121 Lakeside Dr). Regardless of where you launch, you will meet with others on the water at Tom Patterson Island for the event start time. From there we will paddle around the island a few times before heading down the river and back.\nSpectators are welcome to view the event from the riverbank.\nDance under the stars while Cultranaut spins the perfect mix!\nOr bring your own boat and snag a headset (first-come, first-serve!)⁠\nIf you don’t have a kayak, paddle board or canoe, you can rent from the Boathouse here! ( https://www.avonboathouse.com/events ) Click on “Avon after Dark” for bookings.\nDon’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind event on the water.\nDates & Theme:\n*June 27 – Canada Day Paddle\n*July 25 – Christmas in July Paddle – Event begins at 9pm.\n*August 15 – Flower Power Paddle\n*September 12 – Superhero Paddle\n*June 27, July 25, August 15 and September 12 In collaboration with Destination Stratford and the Boathouse these dates will be Silent Disco Nights this year.\n \n \n
