(STRATFORD, ON) Savour Stratford presents Stratford Says "Cheese" Week to welcome the Canadian Dairy XPO with delicious cheese features at 14 great Stratford restaurants, cafés and food shops February 3 through 10.

If you like cheese, then you'll love the delicious cheese dishes offered in Stratford February 3 - 10. Sample small batch regional cheeses, a delectable gourmet cheese ball and even chocolate at food shops. Relax with a local cheese plate for two paired with a taste of Ontario wines. Warm up with hearty winter favourites, soups of cheddar and ale or potatoes and cheese, juicy burgers topped with old cheddar, camembert, gorgonzola or goat cheese and everyone's go-to comfort food, grilled cheese. From mild to sharp, from Paneer to Toscano, you're invited to explore some new cheeses and expand your palate during Stratford Says Cheese week.

Savour Stratford Presents First Farmer Dinner Series

For Immediate Release: October 10, 2012

(STRATFORD, ON) Savour Stratford Perth County presents the first Farmer Dinner Series beginning October 20 at Stratford's newest restaurant. Share the bounty of the harvest as Savour Stratford certified restaurateurs celebrate the farmer/chef partnership with a local farmer host telling the story of your dinner.

"This is a great opportunity to focus on the producer of our local products where the menu planning begins. The farmer dinner series reflects an important partnership and brings people closer to the bounty of the region." comments Danielle Brodhagen, Culinary Programme Coordinator, Stratford Tourism Alliance.

Dinners take place every Saturday from October 20 through to December 1, each at a different Savour Stratford certified restaurant. Reservations will be accepted at participating restaurants by quoting "Farmer Dinner Series". Space is limited, so be sure to reserve early.

• October 20 8 pm Wawa Grub (Grub to go), 85 Downie Street 519-814-4782 Chef Robert Rose and Stephanie Purdy of Purdy's Fisheries present an intimate nine-course dinner featuring one of Ontario's most respected fishing families from Huron County as well as Pfenning's Organics and Nith Valley Apiaries.

• October 27 8 pm Foster's Inn , 111 Downie Street 519-271-1119 Chef Greg Himms and Craig Foster, along with farmers Mark Lass of Lassdale Farm, Ryan Bergma of Loco Fields and Jane Pearson of Sonrisen Farm, will present a North African menu. Ten dollars from each meal will be donated to the Local Community Food Centre which will open its doors later this month. Chef Jordan Lassaline from the Community Food Centre will speak about its programs.

• November 3 8 pm Pazzo Ristorante, 70 Ontario Street 519-273-6666 Chef Yva Santini invites you to meet Tony Jackson of T.J.'s Fin and Feather and Robin Poirier of Oceanwise to learn about the importance of making sustainable seafood choices while enjoying a seafood and local fish dinner.

• November 10 8 pm Mercer Hall, 108 Ontario Street 519-271-9202 Chef Tim Larsen and Fred and Ingrid de Martines of Perth Pork Products are paired again after winning a Savour Stratford Perth County Tasting Award. Mercer Hall continues to impress with their house-made charcuterie and local menu.

• November 17 6:30 pm Stratford Chefs School at The Prune, 151 Albert Street 519-271-1414 Student chefs and Soiled Reputation producer, Antony John - the Manic Organic will entertain and talk about Perth County's unique terroir for growing vegetables. The school is offering BYOB for a $5 corkage fee.

• November 24 8 pm Revel Caffè , 37 Market Square 519-305-1600 Chef Randi Rudner and Church Hill Farm producers, Max and Vicki Lass welcome you to Revel's new space on Market Square where they will be showcasing some of the area's most sought after products from Church Hill Farm, Harmony Organic and Soiled Reputation - a dinner not to be missed!

• December 1 8 pm Bijou Restaurant, 105 Erie Street 519-273-5000
Chef Aaron Linley pairs with organic farmer Ryan Bergma of Loco Fields and Ryan Weth of Weth Mushrooms to showcases vegetables, the stars in this four-course fully vegetarian menu.

The number of courses, menu prices and number of seats available vary at each restaurant. Diners are invited to book directly with the restaurant. Menus and information are available at www.visitstratford.ca/farmerdinners .

Savour Stratford certified restaurants are dedicated to offering locally grown and produced items from a minimum of five area producers. In addition to restaurants, food shops, B&Bs and Inns are also eligible for certification with the Savour Stratford logo on their property and on their websites.

Stratford Tourism Alliance launches 2012 Victorian Christmas Trail

STRATFORD, ON: For Immediate Release: November 15, 2012
The Victorian Christmas Trail, Stratford Tourism Alliance's special holiday offer, makes Christmas shopping both fun and festive. With 16 local shops offering distinctive presents for Christmas Trail shoppers this is a great way to inspire your holiday shopping.
The Victorian Christmas Trail package includes 8 tickets to be redeemed at your choice of the 16 shops for a unique holiday gift - just for you or to share with friends and family. Choose from hand-made candy canes, a holiday pin, pewter cheese mouse and festive teas and coffees. The package is valid for 3 days from the date of purchase now through until December 19th and can be purchased at Stratford Tourism Alliance, open 7 days a week, for $25 (plus HST) with a package value of over $40.
The Victorian Christmas Trail shops are all dressed up for the season and have gifts ready and waiting for you. Trail stops include: Alexandra Salon and Day Spa, Balzac's Coffee Roasters, Bradshaws & Kitchen Detail, Chocolate Barr's Candies, The County Food Co., Cozyn's Garden Gallery, Distinctly Tea, JENN & Larry's Brittle & Shakes, Mercer Hall, The Milky Whey, Small-Mart General Mercantile, Tea Leaves Tea Tasting Bar, The Touchmark Shop, Treasures and Your Local Market Co-op.
Victorian Christmas Trail passes can be purchased until December 19 to allow shoppers the maximum time period to redeem their tickets before Christmas. Only one ticket can be redeemed per stop.
