Wordplay: The Honest Whore | Stratford Festival Forum

A historic work especially relevant in current time. As promised by its title, Swetnam the Woman-Hater Arraigned by Women (published in 1620) depicts a group of women arraigning a character based on the historical misogynist Joseph Swetnam, author of the wildly popular pamphlet "The Arraignment of Lewd Idle and Froward Women" (1615). Deftly interweaving plot elements from romantic comedy with aspects of courtly drama, this anonymously authored, lively five-act play explores themes of slander, love, tyranny and justice.

This event is wheelchair accessible.

Cost: $25- $29/Per person

Location: Studio Theatre, Stratford, 34 George Street, East, Stratford

“Stratford itself is the type of walkable wholesome town Rodgers and Hammerstein might write a musical about.”
