BargeMusic - Speed Control - Stratford Summer Music

Move over, Bryan.  Watch out, Lady G.   The next generation of rockers are underway and they’re getting started at Summer Music’s annual conservatory of popular music, otherwise known to kool kats as the School of Rawk!

For the fifth year, aspiring young stars will experience just how much fun it can be learning to play electric guitars, keyboards and drums, and then building junior rawk bands towards the School’s finale before a live and quite excited audience.   The teachers are genuine rockers – the band Speed Control from Whitehorse, Yukon – with brothers Graeme (guitar/vocals) and Jody Peters (bass/vocals) and drummer Ian March, all of whom are dedicated to furthering music education and bringing music into young people’s lives.  From the sold-out successes of their Schools of Rawk since 2012 in Stratford, it seems these chaps are right on target. Join us to cheer the emerging rawkers at their final showcase, Friday evening.

Enjoy Speed Control ‘s live concerts at 12pm and 3pm on Sunday, August 13 on the Stratford Summer MusicBarge.

“Stratford itself is the type of walkable wholesome town Rodgers and Hammerstein might write a musical about.”
