Late Summer Foraging with Puck's Plenty

The Delectable Day Lily

We've noted all season about the benefits and uses of The Day Lily. Even though the shoots have hardened and the sweet tasting flowers have disappeared, the tubers are what we turn to next. Their taste has both a hint of radish and okra, making them a perfect addition to soups and stews. Besides these wild edibles we'll be collecting wild watercress and wild ginger and of course we'll be harvesting all types of wild mushrooms such as Giant Puffballs, Gem Studded Puffballs, assorted fungi of the Bolete Family and more. All found on beautiful trails only 15 minutes from Stratford.

Cost: $35/Per person

Location: Meet at 96 Birmingham Street, Stratford, 96 Birmingham Street, Stratford

“Stratford itself is the type of walkable wholesome town Rodgers and Hammerstein might write a musical about.”
